Crud. It's like dust, but slightly caked. May require some solvent.
Good term. Nice to hear it used once in a while to keep it alive.

What would cause the output of the Spirit to become brighter when shuttling
or fast-forwarding and fast-rewinding negative? Is this a constant level
change or a variable based on shuttle speed, lamp age/ output, etc.?
