Hi guys!
We're in a hurry to finish a client job and we're having tech
problems... I'm post this to the TIG incase anyone have an idea of
what causes our problems.
Anyone have experience with SD|Fidelty cards from Bluefish444? We're
having some major problems getting them to work properly in our tk setup.
We've two computers (WinXP SP3) currently with Bluefish444 installed.
One for SDI input and one that we use for Analog.
On the SDI input machine we see this:
The card seems _very_ picky on the SDI signal. While the SDI output
signal from our DVNR1000 works fine on our Sony ref monitor and with
Blackmagic cards, the Bluefish444 cards won't give us a stable
picture. Just blinking, like on and off - mostly NO picture at all.
Analog works fine. If I feed it with an SDI signal straight from an
AJA Paralell to Serial (SDI) encoder on our telecine it works well.
I'm thinking about getting a new Serial to Paralell decoder just in
case the Miranda we have is broken, but I think it's strange that
both our Sony monitor and Blackmagic card can eat this signal while
the Bluefish444 can not. Is this normal for SDI? Any suggestions to
what we can try?
On the Component/Composite input machine:
When using component video input we see red lines in the frame at
random intervals and in random parts of the frame. See these examples:

http://www.smalfilm.no/images/NOT_OK.jpg
The lines are there only in one frame and then they go away and come
back 1-5 seconds later.
Any idea what causes this?
If we switch to composite input the red lines go away, but then the
picture we capture is REALLY unsharp compared to how it was before it
went through the Bluefish444 card. Been trying to adjust about
everything within the settings, but nothing seems to help.
For this project we're capturing AVI YUV 8bit, but I've tried DPX and
QT with the same result.
We're operating in SD PAL by the way.
Sorry for all these questions. I'm waiting for some feedback from
Bluefish Support, but thought you guys might be able to help aswell.
Cheers!
Andreas
