this is fairly basic, certainly, but are radio stations held to any  
kind of standard for transmission of music - my experience has been  
that there is all kinds of compression, eq, AGC, aural exciters, etc.  
added when music goes to air, all of it done at the station's whim, to  
get more listeners dialed in.
