I've seen some users transfer such backwards kk film flopped head for tails so KK would ascend with counter though motion was reversed. They, naturally, had to refocus. This worked with one particular facilities workflow better than having fwd motion descending kk, ond fwd counter. Others may have different solutions for their particular workflow. If scanning data, one might need to keep in mind the possible future gotchas generated by having descending dpx file names'

Isn't last section of Kodak kk test film descending? If all 4 fwd perf orientations work with a well set up reader, the last descending section should also work..

the traditional solution to that is flopping the film and refocusing
to account for the image plane difference.

the foot/half-foot codes will be read (as far as I remember), but does
the reader only ascend- so the frame count in between will be wrong?
that's was my presumption, but it's been a while since I tried to read
descending code on current systems.
