In this case I shot out what I was given!

I think there are definitely tradeoffs. For instance, higher resolutions 
(more lines) means that the beam will be dimmer - smaller spot size - 
for a given density on the neg. We used to see this when filming out 8k 
4x5s. If we drop the contrast setting and expose each pixel longer then 
resolution increases.

You're the second person to bring up the IMAX 5.7K resolution softness 
in the last few days.
