[Tig] collection of argot

Glossaries such as those compiled by authors of reference books for
our field serve a good purpose. Is there, however, any compilation of
argot for grading and telecine? This came to mind as I remembered a
session one day in Los Angeles....

The Director was fashionably late, entering wearing an exquisitely
torn T-shirt an hour after the session had already started with the
Famous Eastern European DoP and Classic French Flatbed Editor.
Tentative steps had been made toward a consensus, everyone aware that
it was work most likely wasted. The Director approached the colorist
and softly spoke: "Where are your mids?"

The colorist thought for a moment about a phalanx of Annapolis
graduates, filing past the suite for inspection, but shook his head
clear and connected the term with its context. A most fortunate
inspiration occurred when his imagination and tact meshed to respond
sincerely, "forty-six." The Director in all seriousness instructed,
"try forty-nine."

mids = midrange settings
fake wrap = client signs session work order, then remembers
film in car for small favor job
red ped paranoia = an affliction a Top LA Colorist suffered, when
    someone complained about warm blacks

a wiki page with your contributions of argot may be in the works.
