This sounds like you are being a proponent of "busy work". :-)

If today's film scanning technology is good enough, then there is 
unlikely to be millions made in the future from scanning films made 

The money will be made from those who are able to figure out how to 
effectively and economically archive today's films so that they are 
available in pristine form a very long time from now.  For example, 
they could archive them to Sony SR tape.
